Configure how topic maps are generated, manage your OpenAI API key, and customize quick-start topics.

OpenAI connection

Current status: Not set
Leave blank to keep the stored key. The app falls back to demo mode when no key is provided.

Default generation options

How many levels the recursion explores by default.
Higher values produce more varied subtopics.
Branching factor. Tree size grows as this value raised to the depth, so small changes here have a large effect on cost.
Hard cap on billable OpenAI calls per generation. Generation stops here and saves what it has.

Starter topics

These topics appear as quick-add chips on the home page when the generation form is empty.

Changes are saved locally to instance/settings.json.
