What an eBay return actually costs you, after the fee eBay keeps and the two shipping labels nobody counts.
Screenshots, not a working copy. This product is a single
self-contained HTML file, so publishing a usable one here would be handing it out for
free. What you see below is the real tool running, photographed at full page height with
the values shown — nothing is mocked up, redrawn or retouched.
What it looks like
A $42 sale that came back in resellable condition. eBay credits the percentage final value fee on a full refund but keeps the per-order fee. The outbound label is spent, and a seller-paid return label means you shipped the same item twice. Total: $13.80 out of pocket on a sale you no longer have. The same return, but the item came back damaged. Switching the outcome to damaged removes the recovered-item credit, so the cost rises by exactly the item's cost. The three outcomes are tested against each other: damaged must cost exactly the item more than resellable.
What I ran before shipping it
73 assertions, each of the 8 return scenarios recomputed independently, including that the breakdown shown adds up to the total.
The $10 per-order-fee tier tested on both sides — $10.00 and $10.01.
Deliberately eBay-only. Poshmark, Mercari and Etsy post-sale refund rules could not be verified to the same standard, so they are excluded rather than guessed at.
