What it looks like

A $120 bid on a 40-item lot, 25% of it unsellable.
A $120 bid on a 40-item lot, 25% of it unsellable. Buyer's premium, sales tax and haulage go on top of the hammer price; the 10 items you will bin still cost you money. The number that matters is walk away above $185.84 — decide it before the bidding starts.

What I ran before shipping it

  • 89 assertions including two proven self-consistency properties: at the walk-away bid the profit equals the target exactly, and at the break-even price the profit is exactly zero.
  • Poshmark's $15 fee cliff is tested on both sides, on the item price rather than the total — which is how Poshmark actually bills.
  • Marketplace fees are charged on the total the buyer paid, shipping included, for the platforms that do it that way. Poshmark is the exception and is handled separately.
